Mrs. F, a 44-year-old woman from Poland, sustained injuries when she was struck by a car while crossing a road in North Wales. Maria Pilkington, a solicitor in our personal injury department, handled the claim on her behalf. Following the accident, Mrs. F suffered from several injuries, including hearing loss, tinnitus, soft tissue injuries to her neck and knee, and headaches. We agreed to represent her in the claim, which was brought against the driver through his insurance company. Eventually, the driver admitted responsibility for the accident.
To advance the claim, we obtained medical reports from various experts, including a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon, Neurologist, Ears, Nose, and Throat (ENT) Surgeon, and Psychologist. Since the Claimant resided in Poland, we arranged for her to consult with these experts over a two-day period to minimize her travel to the UK. The medical evidence in this case was intricate, with not all experts supporting the assertion that her symptoms were caused by the accident. Due to these complexities, we sought advice from a barrister on the claim. Ultimately, following the initiation of court proceedings, we negotiated a settlement with the defendant’s insurers for £26,000.
