Broken Wrist from a Cyclist Accident – £32,500 in Compensation

Our client, a cyclist who was injured when the defendant, driving a vehicle, crossed her path, causing her to fall from the bike. Our client instructed Oliver & Co and Allison Pepper dealt with the claim. Our client suffered an intra-articular fracture to her wrist, damage to the triangular fibro-cartilage complex (TFCC injury), scarring, and developed a fear of riding bicycles. We proceeded to obtain medical reports from a specialist Hand Surgeon, a Psychologist and a Camouflage Expert for the scarring.

Our client was moving to a foreign country, so she expressed a desire to put the matter behind her and we therefore quickly arranged examinations with experts in England within 2 months of instruction, despite the covid pandemic. Scans were undertaken in Australia and after providing full legal advice to our client on early settlement, we successfully concluded the claim early as per her wishes in the sum of £32,500.
