Anaesthetic Errors

Undergoing surgery is a daunting experience as we put our lives in the hands of the anaesthetist and surgeons.

Unfortunately, problems can occur with the anaesthesia and anaesthetic errors can be made.

What injuries can occur?

Nerve injuries can be caused when the anaesthesia is injected and damage to teeth can occur during the intubation for the anaesthesia.

If an anaesthetist fails to manage the patient correctly during the operation, the patient could experience ‘anaesthetic awareness.’ This is when the patient is still awake and feel the operation being carried out without being able to alert the surgeons.

If you have suffered any illness during or after having anaesthetic, then you may have a claim for clinical negligence. Our specialist team of solicitors will be able to assist you with a claim.
