Cyclist Road Traffic Accident – £4150 in Compensation

Oliver & Co were instructed to help a cyclist who had been injured when he was hit by a car. Allison Pepper, a solicitor in our personal injury department who specialises in road traffic collisions agreed to deal with the claim for Mr. M.

At the time of the accident our client was not wearing any protective equipment and was not wearing a helmet (although this is not illegal). He suffered injury to his neck which lasted for 9 months.

Although the defendant, who was a taxi driver, denied liability, the whole event had been captured on dashcam footage and there were also independent witnesses who could fully support our client’s version of events.

Our client felt the collision had occurred as an act of road rage. Our client had never seen the dashcam footage but knew this was available from the defendant, however they refused to provide it when it was requested by the solicitor dealing with the claim.

Despite liability never being admitted by the defendant’s insurer, the case was successfully settled within 9 months of instructing our team and our client was awarded £4,150 without the need for court proceedings.
