Fatal Road Accident – £4,650 and £7,000 in Compensation

Our personal injury department were instructed to claim damages on behalf of the estate of a deceased couple, both of whom died following the same road traffic collision. The defendant driver lost control of his vehicle causing instant death to one of the victims, and to the second within a week. We acted on behalf of the administrator to the estate of both victims. Both of the deceased were retired at the time of the collision.

There was no relevant person who would be entitled to a bereavement award and damages in each case were therefore limited to pain and suffering and loss of amenity, funeral costs and probate costs as the family had not depended on them financially or for services. We successfully recovered damages for the victim who died instantly in the sum of £4,650 and £7,000 for the victim who died within a week.

These cases are extremely tragic, and no amount of money can compensate the families for what they have lost. Our job is to make matters as easy as possible throughout the claims process.
