“I knew from my first day that Oliver & Co was different to anywhere I’ve worked before.”

I began my journey this wonderful firm in May 2023 as an assistant in the Conveyancing department and haven’t looked back since. It’s no surprise we’re employee owned as from minute one I felt welcome and a part of the firm. I knew from my first day that Oliver & Co was different to anywhere I’ve worked before. 

Oliver & Co, to me, is one big caring family who support and look out for one another, with our clients reaping the benefits with the first-class service we provide them. I come to work with a smile on my face every morning as I know I’m part of a team that truly values each member and works collaboratively towards our shared success.

The support I receive extends beyond my professional role; it encompasses my overall well-being, creating a fulfilling work environment. The culture here makes me feel valued and heard, which what makes Oliver & Co a firm like no other. Knowing that my contributions are helping to shape the future of Oliver & Co is immensely satisfying and makes me proud to be part of this employee-owned journey.

As part of the employee ownership model, everyone is entitled to a profit share twice a year. This profit-sharing ensures that our success is equitably distributed among all employees, regardless of their role or seniority. By sharing profits equally, we reinforce the principle that everyone’s contributions are valued and that we all play a part our achievements. This approach not only gives us a sense of fairness and unity but also motivates us to work together towards our common goals. 

The company also ensures open communication and values employee input. Our ideas and suggestions are shared with Employee Representatives and discussed with the Management Board, leading to positive changes like the introduction of lunchtime hobby clubs last year that have greatly enhanced employee morale. There is something for everyone to enjoy at our hobby clubs ranging from team games and lunchtime walking to Pilates.

My life changed in May 2023, and just a year on there is more good news. I have recently been awarded a Solicitor training contract and I am excited to be a part of Oliver & Co’s bright future. This is my home, and I cannot see myself working anywhere else.
