Tim Polding is the head of our Commercial Law Department and has over 30 years of experience as a Corporate and Commercial Solicitor. From start-ups to established PLCs, Tim can advise on a range of business matters.

Why did you want to become a solicitor?
I had a law degree and was interested in working not just for one company but with a variety of different businesses across many sectors.
Which areas of law did you train in?
I have always been a specialist corporate and commercial solicitor from day one as an articled clerk (trainee solicitor).
Why did you want to specialise in commercial law?
Working with owner managed and SME sized businesses as well as in the education and not for profit sectors gives me a real variety to my working day and an opportunity to make a real difference for my clients during a long term relationship.

If you hadn’t become a solicitor, what would you have done?
Become an actor and / or a writer.
What do you enjoy doing outside of work?
Watching and playing sport (particularly football and cricket), watching and playing music, watching plays and films, reading.
