As the nation pauses on Remembrance Day, we come together to reflect on the courage, sacrifice and unwavering commitment of those who have served in the Armed Forces, both past and present. It is a moment to remember the fallen, to support those who continue to serve, and to honour the families who stand behind them.
At Oliver and Co, we are proud to be a signatory of the Armed Forces Covenant, reaffirming our ongoing commitment to the military community. The Covenant is more than a promise; it is our pledge to ensure that those who serve or have served, and their families, are treated with fairness, respect and understanding.
We recognise the unique challenges faced by service personnel, both during and after their time in uniform. Military life often brings exposure to conditions that can have long-term effects on a person’s health and wellbeing. The unique pressures of service, with its intense physical demands and the weight of operational duties, can leave lasting marks, shaping both the body and mind long after active service has ended.
Those who have served frequently carry experiences that influence many aspects of their lives, from their physical health to their emotional resilience and outlook. While service instils strength, discipline and teamwork, it can also come with challenges that deserve understanding and support as individuals transition back into civilian life.
At Oliver and Co, we recognise these realities and are committed to providing guidance and assistance to the Armed Forces community. Through our dedicated legal services, including support for military noise induced hearing loss and tinnitus claims, we aim to ensure that those who have given so much receive the respect, care and justice they deserve.
Many of our colleagues and clients have personal ties to the Armed Forces, and we take great pride in offering guidance that respects their service and understands their experiences. Whether it’s signposting avenues for support for veterans transitioning to civilian life, supporting a family through a legal matter, or seeking justice for a service-related injury, we remain committed to standing by those who have stood for us.
This Remembrance Day, Oliver and Co hosted a coffee morning to raise funds for the Royal British Legion, an organisation that has supported the Armed Forces community for over a century. The Legion provides life-changing assistance to serving personnel, veterans, and their families – from financial support and recovery services to advocacy and community connection.
Our coffee morning was an opportunity to come together, share reflections on what this day means to us. We concluded the morning by observing the two minutes’ silence together in solidarity, paying our respects to those who have made and continue to risk the ultimate sacrifice.
