Maria Pilkington, a solicitor in our Personal Injury team has secured a settlement in excess of £1.9 million in damages as compensation for a client who was involved in an accident at work. Our client who is in his thirties sustained a significant crush injury to his non-dominant arm when it became caught in a piece of machinery. The injury was so severe it required him to undergo a below elbow amputation. Following the trauma, our client suffered significantly with pain and difficulties sleeping. His life was significantly affected, and he has not yet been able to return to work.
During the case we were able to obtain interim payments and private rehabilitation treatments for our client including specialist physiotherapy, psychotherapy, sleep therapy and prosthetics which was in addition to the treatment provided to him through the NHS.
