Swift and Efficient Assistance for Elderly Clients with DIY Lasting Powers of Attorney

Our clients, Mr. and Mrs. H, approached us after their attempt to create Lasting Powers of Attorney (LPA) on their own was unsuccessful. The forms, which must be filled out and signed in a specific order, were rejected by the Court despite the clients paying £328 in court fees.

Due to their elderly status, Mr. and Mrs. H requested a home visit, which was scheduled. On the appointment day, unexpected heavy snowfall created challenging travelling conditions however our dedicated team member, Clare, braved the snow to visit them. Clare reviewed their documents to identify the errors and took all necessary instructions.

There was a time constraint due to a delay in contacting us, which created urgency in resubmitting the forms to benefit from a reduced fee for the second submission. Clare assured the clients she could rectify and complete the forms within a week. True to her word, she returned within seven days with the corrected forms ready for signing by Mr. and Mrs. H and their attorneys. The forms were approved, signed, and submitted just in time to avoid the full-price fee.

We are pleased to report that all four LPAs were successfully registered recently. Mr. and Mrs. H expressed immense relief and gratitude for our timely and effective assistance.
