Attending a celebration should be a joyful experience, but for our client, the Liverpool football parade on 26 May 2025 turned into something far more distressing. We were proud to support them through what followed, helping them secure compensation without the need for court proceedings.
What Happened
Our client was among the crowds enjoying the public parade in Liverpool when a vehicle entered a section of Water Street that had been closed to traffic and drove towards pedestrians.
In a moment of panic, and to avoid what could have been a far more serious injury, our client was pushed out of the vehicle’s path by a companion. As people around them tried to escape, they fell to the ground in the chaos.
The Impact on Our Client
Although the physical injuries were relatively minor, the experience itself was deeply unsettling.
Our client suffered soft tissue injuries to their lower back and hand, but just as importantly, they were left dealing with the emotional effects of what had happened. Incidents like this can stay with you long after the physical injuries begin to heal, and that was very much the case here.
How We Helped
From the very beginning, our focus was on making the process as straightforward and supportive as possible.
We arranged for our client to be assessed by independent medical experts so that both the physical and psychological impact of the incident could be fully understood. Just as importantly, we helped secure access to counselling, funded by the defendant’s insurers, so our client could begin to process what they had been through.
Our role wasn’t just about the legal claim – it was about making sure our client felt supported and listened to throughout.
The Outcome
We were able to resolve the claim without the need for court proceedings, securing compensation of over £8,000 for our client.
While no amount of money can undo what happened, it provided recognition of the impact the incident had on their life and helped them move forward.
