Probate: How Legal Guidance Can Help Prevent Family Tensions

We were recently instructed to act for a lady whose friend had died.  She was appointed as executor of a modest estate.  A family member was a beneficiary and I explained that sometimes, it can be beneficial to have the involvement of a solicitor even when the value of the estate is low, because it ensures that the estate will be dealt with correctly and provides protection to the executor.  This protection ensures that she discharges all her duties to the estate, but it also means that the family can deal direct with the solicitor, so that relations are not strained between the parties.

Even though we do charge for our time, we are able to use our skill and experience to deal with matters quickly and efficiently, to the satisfaction of all sides.

We recognised our client’s dilemma and were able to assist her without there being any family tensions.

How we can help
