Our client was marshalling at a car rally when she was hit by the defendant who ignored signage and a roadblock which precluded drivers from driving along the designated track.
The defendant collided with a vehicle our client was resting against, causing her to be thrown up in the air and landing on the ground causing severe facial injuries. She suffered significant facial scarring, fractures to her hand, cracked teeth and psychological injury.

In addition, she was in the process of renovating her home so had to pay people to carry out the work she was unable to do.
A claim was made for the additional cost of buying a new vehicle as she would now have to purchase a larger vehicle rather than smaller vehicles due to her psychological injury. A claim for specialist camouflage make-up to hide the scarring was claimed for the duration of her lifetime.
It became necessary to issue court proceedings in this claim, but the claim was settled shortly after by our specialist team.
