Lucy Metcalfe

I joined Oliver and Co Solicitors in 2017 as the secretary in the Industrial Disease department. My role is to assist the solicitors in progressing the claims as quickly and efficiently as possible to ensure our client’s receive high quality care and their claim is settled quickly to the best possible outcome. We work very closely with one another in our department and so I am aware of the individual situations and requirements for each claim we are running, meaning I am able to be sympathetic to each client as a person.

Aside from my work as a secretary, I have also been involved in running mental health seminars in the workplace alongside our mental health first aiders. These seminars are well attended and aim to help people to better understand the struggles of mental health and how to support colleagues, friends and family who may be going through hard times.

I am also a member of the Corporate Social Responsibility Team which means I am involved in ensuring that we are active in helping our community and raising money for our Charity of the Year. This can range from organising bake sales to arranging social events such as quizzes and we encourage the whole firm to get involved in whatever capacity they can.

Outside of work I am active in volunteering with my church, especially with the youth and children’s work, and enjoy playing roller derby and going rock climbing.
