At Oliver & co, we have recently settled a claim in the sum of £102,500 for a motorcyclist who was injured in a serious road traffic accident.
The Accident
Our client was travelling along a major road at 40 to 50mph when another vehicle pulled out from a side road, causing a collision.
The force of the collision threw our client from their motorcycle. They landed on the road and suffered multiple serious injuries.
The Injuries
As a result of the accident, our client suffered:
- Fractures to the left shoulder (humerus) and multiple ribs
- Severe lacerations to the leg, knee, and upper thigh, resulting in significant scarring and prolonged treatment
- Neck pain/whiplash and bruising to multiple areas
- Urological symptoms, including nocturia and exacerbation of pre-existing conditions
- Psychological injuries, including PTSD and severe depression
Who Was at Fault
The other driver admitted responsibility for the accident at an early stage.
We were also able to secure an interim payment for our client, ensuring they had access to financial support while their claim was ongoing.
Medical Evidence
To fully understand the impact of the injuries, we arranged for our client to be assessed by a range of medical experts, including orthopaedic surgeons and psychologists.
We also obtained specialist evidence to assess the long-term effects of scarring, including the need for camouflage treatment to help manage this.
