We appreciate that a change of firm may raise questions. We hope the answers below are helpful and reassuring.

Taylor Brown has been acquired by Oliver & Co. As part of this process, we are transferring legal matters and associated files to Oliver & Co, unless you advise us otherwise.

The acquisition completed on Friday 27th February 2026 with all business continuing as Oliver & Co Solicitors from Monday 2nd March 2026. 

This change has allowed us to ensure continuity of service, access to additional resources and long‑term growth for both firms. Both firms share the same professional values and commitment to high standards of client care.

Your matter will continue as before, in most cases, the same the lawyers and staff from Taylor Brown will still be responsible for your file and will be assisted by the team at Oliver & Co. This should be a seamless transition and there should not be any delay in dealing with your matter.

In many cases, the same people who are currently working on your matter will continue to do so as part of Oliver & Co. If there is any change to the person responsible for your matter, you will be informed. 

Your existing fee arrangement will remain the same. We do review our fees annually, if any changes are proposed in the future, these will be discussed with you in advance.

Your confidentiality remains protected at all times. Your file and personal data will be transferred securely and handled in accordance with data protection legislation and professional obligations. No information will be shared with third parties outside this process.

Any documents such as wills and deeds will be transferred securely to the Oliver & Co Head Office at Douglas House, 117 Foregate Street, Chester, CH1 1HE. 

Any money held on your account in relation to your matter will be transferred to the Oliver & Co Solicitors Client Account, where it will continue to be held in accordance with the Solicitors Accounts Rules. 

You do not need to take any action if you are happy for your matter to be transferred. If you have any questions or concerns, or if you would prefer not to transfer, please contact us using the details below.

Yes. You are free to instruct another firm at any time. If you decide not to proceed with the transfer to Oliver & Co, we will transfer the matter to your new solicitor if your wish.

Yes. Oliver & Co is authorised and regulated by the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) and is subject to the same professional and regulatory obligations as Taylor Brown.

The ownership of the business is held by a Trust for the benefit of all the staff; therefore every member of staff is an owner of the business and has an interest in the profits and success of the business
