As an employee-owned business, our people drive everything we do, and that includes our commitment to making a meaningful difference in the community we’re proud to serve. In November, that commitment was recognised nationally as our Conveyancing Department won the “Giving It Back” Award at the LEAP Modern Law Conveyancing Awards.
Supporting Local Charities That Truly Benefit
Each year, our team selects a Charity of the Year, deliberately focusing on small, local organisations where our fundraising and hands-on involvement have a genuine, tangible impact. Over the years, our efforts have supported groups like Ark Angels Animal Rescue, West Cheshire Foodbank and Claire House, raising thousands of pounds and delivering real support directly into our community.
This year, we’re proud to support The Joshua Tree, helping children and families affected by childhood cancer. Our team even took part in the DIY SOS Children in Need project to help expand their facilities – tools out, paint everywhere, and sleeves rolled up!
Conveyancing: Making a Difference With Every Completion
Our award-winning Conveyancing team has taken community commitment a step further by partnering with WHAG, a charity supporting vulnerable women and families facing domestic abuse and homelessness.
For every property completion, we donate £1 to WHAG – and that’s just the start. The team also organises collections of clothing, toys, and essential household items, helping families rebuild their lives with dignity and hope.
This blend of financial support and practical, person-centred help is a major reason our department has been recognised for national impact.
Fundraising, Volunteering and a Lot of Fun Along the Way
Giving back at Oliver & Co is fun, energetic, and absolutely a team effort. From cake sales and office raffles to the now-famous annual charity quiz, we’ve turned fundraising into something people genuinely look forward to.
We’ve been proud supporters of The Hospice of the Good Shepherd, sponsoring events like Jail & Bail (where our CEO was “arrested” until he raised bail!) and diving head-first – literally – into the Foamtastic Colourblast run.
We also champion personal fundraising efforts within the firm, backing colleagues taking on challenges such as Strictly-style dance competitions or Race For Life, where our team smashed their target with over £1,200 raised.
Investing in the Next Generation
Community impact isn’t only about fundraising, it’s about shaping the future. Our Work Experience Programme gives students a hands-on experience in every department, turning legal processes into exciting learning opportunities. Alongside this, our regular presence at local career fairs helps inspire the next wave of legal talent.
We’re also to have sponsored matches at Chester FC, a fan-owned club whose values align closely with our own employee-owned culture.
