Gathering evidence
We obtained detailed witness statements at the outset and instructed Professor Maskell, a Consultant Respiratory Physician, to prepare a supporting medical report. Sadly, after receiving this report, Mr. S passed away. Following his death, his family instructed us to continue pursuing the claim.

Initially, medical evidence suggested that Mr. S was suffering from benign asbestos pleural effusion. However, before his death, there had been a suspicion of mesothelioma. There was no post-mortem done and without this we had to rely on expert evidence from Radiologist, Dr. Edey, and Professor Maskell, a Respiratory Chest Physician, to support the diagnosis. Leveraging our expertise, we built a strong case and successfully negotiated a settlement for the family. The compensation covered an amount for Mr S’s diagnosis of mesothelioma, funeral expenses, and additional amounts for the widow’s care and assistance, as well as the loss of financial dependency due to the absence of a joint income.
