Tinnitus Following a Road Traffic Accident – £35,000 in Compensation

We successfully recovered £35,000 for a passenger who was left with permanent tinnitus following a road traffic accident.  One of our specialist solicitors, Allison Pepper dealt with the claim and submitted the claim to the defendant’s insurers.

Liability was admitted very early by the defendant’s insurers and thankfully our client only suffered short-lived physical injury to his neck but continued to suffer from tinnitus. This is a condition causing ringing in the ears and can be debilitating.  We managed to secure funding privately for Tinnitus Retraining Therapy which our client completed before settlement was achieved, but unfortunately this offered little help to our client.

Medical evidence was obtained from an ENT (Ear, Nose and Throat) expert and also from a GP. Our client was a manual worker working on building sites but because he suffered significantly in areas where there was a lot of background noise a claim was made because he was now disadvantaged in seeking work.

The claim was successfully concluded without needing to issue court proceedings for an amount which was expected to exceed the amount that would have been received had it been assessed at court.
