What's going on at Oliver & Co

Proud supporters of Chester bid

Posted on March 17th 2014

As local shops and businesses are facing increasing competition from other towns and cities coupled with the impact of online shopping, the reality is that Chester is now 59th in the CACI UK Retail Rankings. Working together, Chester BID want to reverse this decline and create a more prosperous, exciting and vibrant city in which to shop, live, work, visit and study.

The way forward is to create a Business Improvement District (BID) in Chester’s City Centre. There are already more than 170 successful BIDs in the UK and a BID in Chester could generate £2.5m of private sector investment over the next five years to help us deliver a full range of benefits agreed by the businesses themselves.

Oliver & Co are, together with many local businesses, committed to supporting the Chester BID. Director Kay Cook is part of the BID and says “We are committed to making Chester THE place to visit! If we all work together to support our city we’ll encourage more people to visit our beautiful and historical city.”
