Chester SparkleWalk 2018 with the Hospice of the Good Shepherd
Posted on June 28th 2018
Members of our team were very happy to raise over £225 for the Hospice by taking part in their sponsored Night Walk. Read on to hear about the brilliant event.
New flagship fundraiser:
Louise, Sara, and Helena took part in the Hospice’s Chester Sparkle 5K Sponsored Night Walk on Friday, June 15th 2018. The walk is one of the Hospice’s newest fundraising events, and was a great success by all accounts.
Lighting up Chester city centre:
After arriving at the event, our team were given event t-shirts and refreshments. After music and a warm-up, they joined over 800 people dressed in sparkle, glitter and neon, to walk the 5K route through Chester City Centre. The event lit up the city as many people wore flashing headwear and bright pink t-shirts.
The walk began at Grosvenor Park at 10:30pm and took the participants past some of Chester’s best landmarks, including: the Eastgate Clock, the Town Hall and Chester Cathedral. The route came to an end at the Amphitheatre.
At the end of the route everyone received a finishing medal, a sausage roll and a well-earned cup of tea!
Over £225 raised for the Hospice:
Louise, Sara and Helena began their fundraising weeks before the event and have managed to raise an amazing £225 for the Hospice as a result of kind donations from their friends, family and co-workers at Oliver & Co.
We hope that the money raised will help the Hospice to continue their vital work.
In the next few months, Oliver & Co will be sponsoring the Hospice’s Foamtastic ColourBlast event, watch our website and social media for the latest information!
