Chester Firm Oliver & Co Solicitors recruits brand new Wills & Probate Solicitor

Posted on December 20th 2016

Louise Holmes has recently joined the Oliver & Co Solicitor’s team! She specialises in Wills, Lasting Powers of Attorney, Trusts and Estate Administration. This week we managed to pull her away from her (already busy!) schedule to get to know her a bit better.

How did you become a Wills Solicitor?

Originally from Chester, I studied Business Management at Coventry University and graduated with a 2.1 BA Honours degree. I then went to Law College to undertake the GDL and LPC to train as a Solicitor. I worked at a firm in Frodsham where I qualified as a solicitor.

I’m currently working towards the STEP diploma in Trusts and Estates.

What made you choose wills & probate?

I chose to specialise in Wills and Probate as it is a varied area of law and no day is the same. One day I might be completing complicated inheritance tax returns that include an application for agricultural relief. However, the next day I might be seeing a client in hospital and handwriting a will for them to sign straight away. This can be vital to ensure that their final wishes are carried out.

Why did you want to work at Oliver & Co Solicitors?

I wanted to work at a growing firm that places client care at the top of what is most important to them.

Where have you worked in your career so far?

I qualified at a solicitors in Frodsham and specialised in wills and probate and residential conveyancing. I now specialise in preparing wills, lasting powers of attorney, trusts and estate administration.

What’s your favourite thing about being a solicitor?

I enjoy meeting lots of people and being able to help them especially in what can be very delicate times if they have recently lost a loved one.

What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?

I enjoy Pilates and spending time with my very energetic toddler!
