Helena JonesHelena JonesHelena qualified as a solicitor in September 2004 having studied Law and Italian at Cardiff University. She spent four years handling Personal Injury cases for a firm in North Wales before joining Oliver & Co in September 2006. Helena became a member of the Industrial Disease Department in December 2006 and now deals with a variety of claims including high value Asbestos exposure claims and Industrial Deafness claims.
A couple of Helena’s successful cases include a claim against the South Wales Police following a man’s exposure to asbestos whilst employed in a South Wales station. Sadly he developed mesothelioma and Helena was successful in recovering £90,000 in settlement of his claim. Helena also successfully settled a claim for a hairdresser who developed dermatitis to her hands as a result of not having been provided with gloves to protect her from chemicals. This lead to her not being able to continue in her chosen career and she was awarded £40,000 in compensation.
Helena enjoys travelling and has enjoyed holidays in Africa, Asia and America. In her spare time she enjoys socialising, eating Thai food and going to the gym.
