If you are suffering from abuse from a partner, friend or relative we are on hand to offer assistance and if necessary obtain an injunction to prevent further incidents occurring. It is often very difficult for people to accept that they are the subject of abuse, and we are able to offer a sympathetic ear in a very delicate situation and offer practical advice to help you cope. Domestic Abuse is any incident of threatening behaviour, violence or abuse which can be physical, psychological, or sexual, between adults who are or have been partners or family members.
If you are suffering from abuse in any way you can contact the police or a solicitor to assist you in obtaining protection, either through an harassment order or an injunction.
You will often be able to find help through the refuge or women’s aid if you need somewhere to stay, if fleeing from domestic abuse. They can assist you in finding alternative accommodation should you need it. If you wish to return home and live free from your abuser we can help you do this by applying to the court to exclude them from the home.
Legal Aid is often available for those seeking representation subject to your financial situation.
