We can help you with the following, namely:-

Review of any outstanding arrears.
Direct contact with the CSA so you no longer have to deal directly.
Liaison with CSA Bailiffs and Collection Agencies on your behalf.
Variation Orders.
Departure Directions.
Problems with Liability Orders.
Appeal Service Hearings.
High Court Applications.
Criminal Prosecutions.
Help arranging private agreements between both parties outside the Agency.
Assistance for people who are self employed and having a downturn in business.
Advising anyone with problems with the CSA.

The basic principle of the current scheme with the Child Support Agency is that the non resident parent pays 15% of his/her net weekly income (on up to a maximum income of £2,000 per week) for one child, 20% for two children and 25% for three or more. Part of that income is disregarded for each child (up to 3) living with the non resident parent.

Net weekly income is net of tax and national insurance. Pension contributions are deductable in full. Any bonus, commission or overtime payments are included as are receipts from a pension scheme, working family tax credit, employment credits and disabled persons tax credits. Income from savings, investments, benefits and student grants and loans are excluded.

For shared care the rule is that if the care of the qualifying child is shared so that from time to time the non resident parent has the care of that child overnight the child support otherwise due to the parent with care is decreased by reference to the number of nights in a twelve month period the child in question stays with the non resident parent.

Some parents may find it difficult to obtain representation at appeal hearings. Although many parents would be perfectly able to present their own cases, it can be invaluable to obtain objective independent advice which draws on the legislation. Oliver & Co can provide that advice.
